HOME » INFORMATION » OUR USE OF COOKIES

Our on-line catalogue uses "cookies". The ones on the left are the type known here in Britain as biscuits. The internet ones are different. They are small and often encrypted files that load into your browser allowing it to track the contents of your shopping basket once you have selected an item or items for purchase. The legislators don't like them, seeing them as an "invasion of privacy".

Technically we are supposed to have "pop-ups" and "big flashing things" all over our web site warning customers that 'cookies' are about to infest their computers followed by an "opt-in" system. But, most people hate pop-ups and forms.

As invasions of privacy go we think that it's not too serious. After all, when customers come into our shop they generally show us what it is that they want to buy so that we know how much to charge them (some don't and are referred to as "shoplifters"). We do not disclose buyers information to third parties other than for delivery and card processing purposes. We do not share customer's browsing or buying history with anyone.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Web browsers generally accept cookies by default, but you can usually modify the settings to decline them, though this would prevent you from being able to purchase products on-line. If you prefer, you can order by phone.
