Speleo Technics Nova Plus Caving Light Speleo Technics Nova Plus Caving Light
Ref: NVPF102, EAN:
The Nova Plus in it's standard form runs from a 4.5V alkaline "flat" battery but can be used with the NiMh Headlite battery if a rechargeable system is preferred. It will run for up to 60 hours using the non-rechargeable alkaline so for most cavers the need to use the rechargeable NiMh is debatable.

Go caving once a fortnight? Four to six hour trips? You'll probably only need to buy three alkaline batteries to last a years caving.

  • Helmet mounted battery
  • Single ultrabright LED
  • Two brightness settings
  • Runs up to 60 hours from one battery

Kit Includes: Nova Plus lamp-head, battery box for alkaline "flat" pack (available below) and instruction manual.

No longer available. Conside the Petzl Duo as an alternative.

    Ref: A05050-NOVA, EAN:

This helmet bracket is required for the "spade" mounting option. Supplied with template for drilling, nuts, bolts and washers.

WARNING: the fitting of this bracket may have an adverse effect on the amount of protection offered by the helmet. We can't advise the modification of helmets but if you want to fit a caving lamphead to one, there is no other practical option.

The Modification of Helmets for Caving and Cave Diving

By necessity some helmets have to be modified in order that they can be used for caving or adapted to suit the requirements of a particular task within the caving environment. Usually holes will need to be drilled in the shell so that lamp brackets or reserve lamps can be fitted.

Head torches with elastic head straps can be attached to helmets without the need for helmet modification but there is a high risk that the headtorch may be dislodged which in certain situations could be extremely hazardous. An additional method of attachment should be devised which may require helmet modification.

If holes are drilled in sensible positions and kept to a minimum they are unlikely to have an adverse effect on the overall strength or protection offered by the helmet shell but obviously this can't be guaranteed.

Drilling holes into a helmet shell technically invalidates its certification as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and may have an adverse effect on the amount of protection provided by it so anyone who modifies or uses a modified helmet must be aware of, and fully accept, the potential incurred risks of the modification beforehand and during subsequent use.

PRODUCT AVAILABILITY: We source many of our products from very small manufacturers who don't have registered bar codes. Although technically possible it is impractical for us to operate an automated stock control system. We would be working for the machine rather than the machine working for us and there aren't enough hours in the day to do it. However, it is rare for us to be out of stock of anything and we do our best keep our site updated accordingly. If we know we're out of stock of something we remove the "add" button or put a note against the item. In the rare event we sell out of something between web site updates or we miss something, we would let you know, giving you the choice of keeping the item on order or cancelling. If you would like to check availability of an item prior to ordering either give us a call or drop us a line by email. E: info@hitchnhike.co.uk

YOUR SECURITY: We use the Actinic Payments System powered by CreditCall. This is 100% PCI DSS compliant and 3D secure. Actinic Payments meets all current banking security standards including PCI DSS, which is now a requirement for all UK businesses to accept credit card and debit card payments. It also supports anti-fraud options such as AVS, CV2 and 3D Secure. Your card details are not held anywhere in our system.

If you don't know us and are worried about buying over the Internet from a company you've never heard of type "Hitch n Hike" into Google and check us out, or just give us a call.

HIGHLANDS & ISLANDS: Some remote areas and islands may be subject to additional delivery costs, requirements or restraints, depending on the size and weight of the item ordered. If you place an order and this is the case we would contact you to discuss options / additional costs. We will always do our best to find a way but if we can't we may have to cancel the order. If you'd like us to check first just give us a call.
